So this weekend was Mike's mother's 65th Birthday. We had a party for her with all her friends and family. So of course I got to see my favourite little boy Colin. If you've been to my FaceBook site you would have seen all my photos of him:) But on this site I'm going to post a couple of videos I took with my camera....just cos I can :P

Superstition...
<su·per·sti·tion /ˌsupərˈstɪʃən/ [soo-per-stish-uhn] –noun
An irrational belief that an object, action, or circumstance not logically related to a course of events influences its outcome.
So over the last few months I've been told many about what I can and can't wear to the wedding ... what I have to do the next day... etc..etc...
I knew about the ..something old..something new..something borrowed..something blue. But some of these new ones are strange..I can't wear open toe shoes (bad luck), have to hope for rain (suppose to be good luck....but I'm having an out door wedding..so how can that work)...and I have to go swimming the next day (to prevent twins!!)
So my question is are they true?? And if they are what other ones should I be aware of??

A night to remember
So Mike and I went to see Loreena McKinnett last night at Massey Hall...and all I can say is WOW! It was quite the night. Definitely one our top 5 best Date Nights;)
Loreena McKinnett has long been one of my favorite musicians and last night I was not disappointed at all. In fact I was quite surprised at times. At one point there was a duel between an electric guitar and electric violin.
All my favourites were played...Bonny Portmore, The Lady of Shalott, The Old Ways, The Bonny Swans, The Mummers' Dance, The Highwayman, Penelope's Song...and soo many more...THREE ENCORES!!!
I encourage anyone who has never listen to her to look her up. There are several of her songs on YouTube.
It is my love of her music that made me want to have a Celtic Harpist for my wedding and I am more excited about now then ever!!

Memories of Yesteryears
So I joined Facebook about a month ago and didn't think it was all that exciting. The only people that I knew that were on it were from work, and I see and talk to them everyday, so seeing them online was not super exciting (don't get me wrong I love all my friends at work, but I do see them everyday). Well, two days ago an old friend, Gabby, from University found me. This was my bestfriends for four years. We did everything together, she lived with me and we travelled to England together...one prof used to asked where the umbilical cord was that connected us. Well, something happened that strained and eventually ended the friendship...looking back I feel this huge amount of regret that I let that happen. I feel this emptiness.
And over the past 48 hours since reconnecting with her there have been other faces popping up..Heidi..Jennifer..Lori...Diane....all these people who where huge parts of my life and then things happened and they were no longer there.
I look over their profiles and I see all these things that I missed..marriages...babies... and feel this huge pang in my heart that I should have tried harder to be a better friend, I shouldn't have let things go the way they did. I miss them..I miss the time with them......I miss who I was with them.
And now as I plan for the most important day of my life I realize that they won't be there...... somehow that to me feels strange.... I have this huge feeling of regret right now. These were people who were my best friends and I let them go and I don't know why. I'm sure I did something wrong..I can't even remember what caused things to go the way they did.....
Regardless I hope that this has opened the doors again to allow them to let me back in their lives and rebuild friendships that should never have been lost in the first place....

Welcome Back Letter
At work if we have an advisor who has more then 5 absents from work we give them a Welcome Back Letter....it's a friendly reminder to show up for work.
So I've decided to issue myself a Welcome Back letter to this blog:) I've been absent, I know and I have no excuse really. Well it is hard to share a computer with someone who's whole work is based on the Internet;) I'm back to nights this weeks so there should be some activity since I don't have to wait for Mike to finish his emails and web updates.
So wedding updates:
We went to Picton on Saturday and checked out the winery (Waupoos Winery) and things look great. It's right on the lake and the vows will be said in the dock and then dinner and dancing will be in an open tent overlooking the lake on one side and the vineyard on the other.
I picked out my flowers. I've choose lavender hydrangeas and lavender freesia with an accent of white from a lily. Very simple, but very nice. Mike and his guys are going to have the freesia with brown woodcock feather. Mike just likes the idea of being able to tell people that there woodcock feather...sheesh guys!
Looked at all the hotels and those look good. very happy that everyone is going to be is large groups. I was worried that I'd have people scattered at various B&B. As it is now the breakup is:
Miller/Bethune - Angeline's Spa and Inn
Parks/Jessup - Picton Harbour Inn
Friends - Queen's Inn
Me and Mike - Merrill Inn
So thing are going smoothly and well. I'm a little scared that things are going to well. So far there has only been a few things that I'm not that happy about. One is that it looks like people will be standing for the ceremony. This is how they do it at the site. I can't say I'm too keen on that, but maybe if I complain enough I'll get my chairs.
Final note: I've gotten a lot of comments about the dresses. I've had a few break downs, so I'm going to put it out there since Mike doesn't read this site any ways. I did not get the v-necks. I got the spaghetti strap one. I know many of you loved the two v-necks in the photo, but one was not a comfortable dress and made me very self conscious of my stomach and the other was too expensive and the staff was rude.
The spaghetti strap one was the one I tried on first and I loved it. I compared all the others to it and kept going back to it.
So I hope that post made up for the last month of no commets :)

Check List is getting Smaller
So this week I got two more things off the list. The DJ and a harpist. So happy that I have a harpist. I can thank Ann for that. Ann is the lady who waxes me :) So while she's inflicts pain every month at least I can get some benefit out of it.
The blog has been pretty slow. Sorry for that. It's due to this crappy shift I'm on at work - 430pm-1am...only one more week to go. Can't wait I have a months worth of TV to catch up on.
